The existing Wittelsbacher Golfclub will continue to be managed as a high-quality semi-private golf facility (members and guests).
The newly planned Ryder Cup golf course with its training facilities will be open to the public as tourist attraction (pay & play).
Together with the existing golf course, which is also very attractive, this will create an international, high-quality 36-hole golf centre –
in the heart of Bavaria. The practice area is also tailored for the National Performance Centre of the German Golf Federation (DGV).
The PGA of Germany will find the ideal conditions for a training and education centre in Rohrenfeld. For the first time, Rohrenfeld
provides the unique opportunity to establish a "German Golf Hall of Fame" in the existing estate beside the hotel, providing a platform for all German golfing heroes.
Construction Schedule
If Germany's bid is successful in the early part of 2011, construction of the golf course and hotel is to begin immediately. It will be opened in 2014.
Hotel and Clubhouse
The Royal Estate of Rohrenfeld is located centrally, only a few metres away from tee 1, green 9 and tee 10 of the Ryder Cup Audi Course. The clubhouse, pro shop and all other required premises will be built here. A small section of the estate will be removed; a 5-star sport & and conference hotel with 161 rooms will be built there.
"Golf and Nature"
The present Ryder Cup Audi Course comprises a unique compensatory area of 95 hectares (extensive area, flowering meadows, etc.), thus providing outstanding confirmation of a pioneering role in the project "Golf and Nature".
